Elderly Services Department
The mission of the Kumu Kahi Department is to advocate for and
support Native Hawaiian elderly in enriching and enhancing their
lives by preserving and restoring their health and well-being,
sense of dignity, self-respect and cultural identity.
The Department
includes two projects:
Ke Ola Pono No Nā Kūpuna Program (Good Health and
Living for the Elderly) provides nutritional and supportive services for
Native
Hawaiian elderly 60 years and older.
The Native American Caregivers Support Program is a pilot project
designed to establish quality standards through surveys and the
evaluation of informational workshops, user-friendly manuals
and practical toolkits for family caregivers of Native Hawaiians.
