Data Resource Center
The purpose of the Resource Center is to assist in researching and
identifying ways to increase the success of project planning, development,
and management.
ALU LIKE, Inc. maintains a comprehensive data collection in its Research
and Evaluation Unit and the Native Hawaiian Library. The Native Hawaiian
Data Resource Center (NHDRC) is available for research and reference
for all those who are interested in data relating to Native Hawaiians,
especially data on demographic, education, health, and other socioeconomic
characteristics.
The NHDRC is an Affiliate of the Census Bureau's State Data Center
and, as such, is a depository of Census data publications and computer
products from which Native Hawaiian data are extracted and compiled
for public use.
Cooperative relationships with public/private agencies and institutions
have made available additional Native Hawaiian data generated upon
ALU LIKE's requests.
Many of the studies and reports which ALU LIKE has published on Native
Hawaiians throughout the years were done in coordination with other
agencies and institutions.
The Data Resource Center collection consists of various types of
materials, ranging from books, reports, and studies to Census publications,
legislative materials, directories and bibliographies. Most of the
collection deals with Native Hawaiians and related materials.
The over 4000 documents in the collection can be accessed from the
online Catalog
The Document Classification System for the collection is arranged
according to subject matter under five major indexes:
1. 1000s - Needs Indicators
2. 2000s - Resources
3. 3000s - Genealogy
4. 4000s - Census - State Data Center
5. 6000s - Evaluation
