The Individual Development Account is a new and innovative approach to asset acquisition for our Native Hawaiian community. The project is part of a larger collaborative group, Asset Building Initiative of Hawai`i, who are committed to bringing the capabilities of asset acquisition to our Native Hawaiian community. Collaborative partners include American Savings Bank, Hawai`i Homeownership Center, Parents and Children Together and the City and County Family Self-Sufficiency Program.The Individual Development Account assists individuals who meet the income and employment criteria guidelines set by the funding source in starting a special savings account in which a 200-300% match will be provided. The qualified individual can save towards one of three goals: home ownership, education, or business enterprise. To ensure post-program stability, qualified individuals will develop budget-making skills through financial literacy, asset goal classes and case management. Eligibility: Hawaiian
