Ho‘owaiwai Nā Kamali‘i
Native Hawaiian Early Childhood Consortium


The Ho‘owaiwai Nā Kamali‘i Early Childhood Consortium is dedicated to the betterment of early education and care for Native Hawaiian families with children prenatal to age five.

Eligibility:
Ho‘owiawai Nā Kamali‘i does not provide any direct services so eligibility is not an issue.


Services:

In conjunction with the Institute For Native Pacific Education and Culture (INPEACE) which has a similar grant covering Neighbor Islands we provide staffing for the development and maintenance of a Native Hawaiian Early Childhood State Advisory Council with representation of all four service system sectors (Health Care, Parent Education, Early Care & Education, and Family Support).

ALI Community Facilitators provide staffing and support for the development and maintenance of 5 Local Advisory Councils on O‘ahu with representation of all four service system sectors (Health Care, Parent Education, Early Care & Education, and Family Support).

Local Councils will:






Plan and initiate public awareness activities on importance of early care & education and availability of services.
Identify and document Native Hawaiian early child outcomes aligned with Hawai`i’s school readiness definition.
Identify key local early care & education strategies for Native Hawaiian school success.
Identify local financing strategies for Native Hawaiian school success.
